Community Guidelines

Please read these Community Guidelines carefully before using Secondlove Books:

Respectful Communication

  • Be kind, courteous, and prompt in all communications. Remember, there’s a booklover like you on the other end!
  • If you have a question or concern, you can contact other users through the messaging service. If you need to report an issue, you can contact the Secondlove Books team at EMAIL.
  • Hate speech, harassment, or discrimination may result in a ban and/or deletion of your account and content on.
  • Keep all transaction-related communication on the Secondlove Books platform. Do not try to contact other users on other platforms, or direct Buyers or Sellers to off-platform communication, transactions, or interactions.

Accounts

  • Users may have only one account on Secondlove Books.
  • Ensure your profile name and content is appropriate for all audiences.
  • At this stage, Secondlove Books is for Buyers and Sellers located in Australia and Australian territories.


Privacy, Safety, and Off-Platform Transactions

  • All buying and selling must stay on Secondlove Books to protect your privacy and and ensure that purchases are covered under our payment, shipping, and refund systems.
  • Do not share your personal contact details or encourage off-platform deals—this may lead to account suspension. If another user request asks you to pay offline, via a different method, or add unexpected costs, please do not engage and report it to EMAIL immediately.

Listings

  • Be honest and accurate when describing books, including accurate listing condition and any flaws.
  • Use clear, original photos showing the exact item. List as individual books or small sets (not bulk lots), include at least one relevant genre, and price fairly.
  • Items must be in your possession (no dropshipping or digital sales) and ethically sourced.
  • Cancelled orders must not be re-listed at higher prices unfairly.

Allowed Items

  • Secondlove Books is for books and book-related items (e.g., bookmarks, comics, journals).
  • Non-book items like clothes or electronics are not allowed.

Shipping

  • Sellers must post the books/items within 5 days or notify the Buyer of delays.
  • Package books/items securely to prevent damage.
  • Sellers must provide Buyers with tracking numbers for all posted books/items.
  • Sellers are not responsible for carrier losses if shipment is verified.

Returns & Issues

  • Buyers on Secondlove Books can dispute within 14 days of the transaction date once the Seller marks the book as ‘Shipped.’ Secondlove Books will review and resolve fairly. Please note that disputes and refunds can only be done BEFORE a transaction has been marked as ‘Completed.’
  • If a Seller’s account displays a patten of repeated issues, this may lead to temporary or permanent ban.

Other Important Information

  • Books with explicit covers can be sold but may be restricted from visibility.
  • Content promoting hate or discrimination is prohibited.
  • Counterfeit or copyright-infringing books are not allowed.
  • Secondlove Books may remove any listing that violates these guidelines.

Violations

  • Violations may result in temporary or permanent bans. If you have any concerns, contact our support team at EMAIL.
